Initial Assessment

Treatment begins with a comprehensive assessment using a variety of orthopedic and functional techniques including Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), Postural Restoration, and Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) to diagnose and create a treatment plan for your condition. In most cases, you will receive treatment during your first visit.

What to Expect

  1. Allow 1 hour for your initial assessment appointment.
  2. Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely without restricting your range of motion.
  3. You will be asked to provide information about your current condition, past medical history and your goal(s) for treatment. Your motivation helps determine appropriate services for you.
  4. The assessment may include a functional movement assessment, postural assessment, gait analysis, neuromuscular evaluation, muscle strength and length testing, and joint mobility testing.
  5. Based on the information you provide and the assessment results, a recommended treatment plan will be reviewed with you.
  6. If your condition requires treatment outside of our practice, we will refer you to a health care professional who can address your specific needs. We enjoy working with a number of specialists in the area to co-manage the recovery and rehabilitation of our clients.
  7. Most clients receive treatment during their first visit, which may include chiropractic manipulation, soft tissue mobilization, muscle stretching and corrective exercise. Soft tissue therapies are applied directly to the skin. Corrective exercises may cause you to perspire.
