hy do you Train?
I train for two main reasons. One, to slow down aging, or at least help me think I am. And two, for my mental well-being. I enjoy being able to focus on doing something physical and think about nothing else.
What motivates you?
My motivation has always been to be consistent by doing something physical every day. As a cancer survivor, I don’t take for granted that I am able to maintain a fitness program. This motivates me to stay active so I can continue to appreciate every single day.
How does training help you in your daily life?
Team Training is a great supplement to other activities I enjoy, such as running, cycling and spending time with my wife, walking, hiking and traveling. I also want to be able to keep up with my three grandkids.
Describe your Level Up experience?
My first Level Up day provided me with a good baseline and reminder that I need to work on upper body strength. I am looking forward to the next Level Up day to see if there has been some improvement. I don’t have any delusions about making it on the Leader Board, unless Joey adds an old fart division.
What is your athletic/training background?
Growing up it was baseball and basketball. I began running in college. I really enjoyed it and have been running for more than 40 years. Over the years I completed 14 marathons and countless shorter races. While I don’t run every day anymore, I’ve added cycling and team training to my fitness routine.
Why do you choose Paradigm Sport?
I was taking classes at a local fitness center that became less challenging over time. Paradigm Sport was highly recommended to me by members, Sally Danen and Michelle Choi. The quality of trainers, thought and planning that goes into every workout is amazing. I am constantly inspired by all the other members and the community of folks here.
