f you’re a parent with a job (or two), you know this feeling: there’s just never enough time. And if you’re like me, running a business, raising kids, coaching a travel baseball team, and a little league team, you might feel like getting your own workouts in is just a luxury you can’t afford.

But I’ll be real with you: I still train. Not because I always have the time. I don’t. I do it because I can’t afford not to.

Here’s why…

A recently read something by Sahil Bloom. He talks about the 5 Types of Wealth:

  • Time Wealth
  • Health Wealth
  • Financial Wealth
  • Social Wealth
  • Knowledge Wealth

And it hit me; what’s the point of working hard to build financial wealth if I’m too tired, too unhealthy, or too stressed out to enjoy it?

I’m not chasing six-pack abs anymore. I’m chasing energy, longevity, and presence; for my family, my team, and myself. And that starts with protecting my health wealth.

So how do you make time when life won’t slow down?

Here’s what works for me (and can work for you too):

1. Workout appointments = business meetings

I put my workouts in my calendar just like I do client calls or baseball practice. If I don’t, something (or someone) will take that time from me. Time wealth means owning the hours you do have.

2. Choose short, powerful workouts

I don’t have 90 minutes. But I can get in, hit it hard for 45, and leave feeling 100x better. That’s exactly why our Team Training and Small Group sessions are designed to be efficient but effective.

3. Remember your “Why”

For me, it’s being the kind of dad who can still throw BP, hustle after a foul ball, or carry a bucket of balls without my back giving out. Whatever your reason is—hold onto it. It’ll carry you through the busy days.

Bottom line:

When you make time to train, you’re not being selfish; you’re making an investment in every area of your life. Health wealth builds time wealth. And time wealth is freedom.

You don’t need a perfect routine. You just need to start. I believe in you.
