hy do you train?
I started training at Paradigm during a time that I worked in a very demanding and stressful job. The mental benefit of exercise combined with having a reliable daily routine really helped me get through that period. Work anxiety tends to back off when a coach is making you sprint stairs!
In what ways does training help you in your daily life?
I grew up on Kauai, so fitness has always played a part in doing the things I love. Surfing, big hikes, biking and adventures are so great when you have fitness fundamentals.
Your Level Up experience?
I’ve participated in Level Up about 4 times. The first was was extremely challenging – you totally exhaust every zone trying to get your highest level and then you do a versa sprint… Subsequent tests have been about trying (sometimes failing) to get the heaviest lifts or new levels. Right now my goal is to be the first woman to get the Master rank (don’t tell Jessica P).
What is your training/athletic background?
I might be the longest running Para-dime at the gym? I think I’m going on 5 years!
Why do you choose Paradigm Sport?
The trainers at Paradigm are obviously invested in the well being of every member of the gym. Both Zach’s will remember your injuries and ensure that you’re modifying each exercise to suit your needs. Drew will casually drop off a heavier kettlebell on days when I’m less motivated. Also, Paradigm is easily the cleanest gym in town. The equipment and locker rooms are meticulous – it’s beautiful!
